Door Sill and Rocker Panel Protection Tips

Hey yall, im a little concerned about my door sills where you step in and out, and the rocker panels on my 2016 Corolla S Special Edition.

Im thinking of taping off around the area of the door sill that i want protected, and then plasti-dipping it to see how it holds up. I just want basic protection for the paint from the dirt and grit that falls off my boots and such getting in and out.

For the rocker panels i was thinking of plasti-dipping them also, but it likely wouldnt hold up very well. In which case im a little curious if anyone has tried vinyl on thier car, and if so, will the $10 rolls of carbon fiber vinyl from china be a danger to my clearcoat if i use that on the rocker panel? I bought a roll and im thinking of putting it on the rocker panels, the whole length down under the doors, but im not sure if it will damage the clearcoat should it get scuffed and i want to peel it off to replace it or go without it eventually. Any thoughts on that?

Also, does plasti-dip hurt clearcoat? I cant find a reliable dork online to say something about. One goof made a scene about the hood scoop on his WRX that got a little paint peeling off after two years or something, but i need real answers if theres a chemical in plasti dip that will or will not somehow affect the quality of my clearcoat and paint.

Any comments appreciated! Thanks yall

Yeah I dont think plastidip will hold up, as far as the rocker panel goes, I would not worry about it, if you get down and look at it, the paint looks all wavy and bubbly, they put the paint on thicker and not as smooth down there to make it harder and more durable to rocks and such. I would maybe try clear bra in the door jambs, or try to get vinyl that matches your car's paint job.

Thanks for the ideas guys. What kind of clear bra should I go with? Ive seem 3M made spray, but would you recommend sheets or spray or what? Thanks

Also, I have carbon fiber vinyl is thinking of using on the rockers or door jamb kick plates area... Is that vinyl going to hurt the clear coat should I ever take it off someday?
