Doors Won't unlock with Key Fob

I have 2010 Toyota Venza. The rear, and passenger doors will not unlock with the key pad or the lock/unlock push button on driver side door. The only way to unlock them is to manually flick the switch that is on that particular door above the door handle. They do however lock with the keypad or the push button. The driver's side door functions without a problem. I do not have a smart key. Anyone have this problem?

I think there is something in the user manual:

I have tried using the user manual to program the door unlock function, but it doesn't seem to work. There must be another problem.
Is there a fuse for the drivers side door and a separate one for the rest of the doors. I can't seem to find more than one fuse. But then when you think of it all of the doors lock so the fuse must be ok.

You are right. It would not make sense to have different fuses for lock / unlock. And then different fuses also for the drivers door and then the rest of the doors. When I hit the lock/unlock rocker button on my door, or the passenger door the only door that will unlock is the drivers side door. If i 'manually' unlock all of the doors and hit the the lock/unlock rocker all of the doors will lock. But if I hit it again they will not unlock. I have to go to each door and 'manually' unlock them. Is it possible there is some sort of control in the passenger door that ties all of the rear doors to the passenger door? If you double click the key pad it causes the passenger door as well as the rear doors to unlock. If it fails they all fail. I have to get some sort of a schematic for the passenger side door.

Glad to hear you got it fixed and thanks for posting the solution. IMHO once you have tried the obvious troubleshooting checks in the owner's manual it is better to let the dealer check it out. If you try to fix something on your own that is covered by the warranty they may accuse you of causing the problem and not cover the cost.

Smart key issues.

I have a 2011 Venza with push start. Sometimes I can't lock or unlock the doors with either the key fob or the finger on the door handle. Sometimes I can start the car and then it'll say "key not detected (it's in my pocket) then drive and the message goes away.Got in the car this am but it wouldn't start (key not detected), put key by button and started. Went to store and locked and unlocked fine and started no problem. I tried new battery in the remote and the dealer has since gotten me a new key. Bringing the car in Tuesday for them to try it for the day. Anyone have any similar problems with theirs?

This seems to be a problem with Toyota Venzas unfortunately. I have a 2009 model and it does the exact same thing described here. I've taken it into the dealer who replaced the battery and gave me a new fob when it was under warranty. Nothing has worked. I now have two fobs that do this. So, I keep a set of batteries on hand and pray this thing does not leave me stranded somewhere.

There is also a lock/unlock toggle switch on the driver's door panel. Try that as well. If there is a loose wire it will not work. If it does there is a problem with your fob. 2 clicks opens the doors. Does the rear hatch button work?

I found my answer and it started happening since I installed led tail/stop bulbs. With the lights on or your foot on the brake, the bulbs/leds must interfere with the radio signal of the key.

Venza doorlock issues

Hello guys I am new to this forum

I have a 2011 Venza regular key no TFT screen and experience the same issues with my doors not unlocking only the driver side and trunk works, but will lock all doors it sometimes works sometimes it wont. I checked all my wirings with my aftermarket viper remote start that I installed about a year ago. I started having this problem maybe a month ago when I added the smart start could be a coincidence. Did anybody get their issues resolved that is not in the forums.

I am a Government Certified Automotive Electronic Accessory Technician so please don't tell me that the issues are from my aftermarket product.

Thank you
