I just purchased a 2018 Toyota Camry with all the toots and whistles including the Communication and Navigation feature. When I operate the vehicle, I plug my cell phone into the USB jack. Everything seems to work with Entune 3.0 app as well as the Scout app. I have music downloaded in my cell phone that I listen to. The music plays through the system but loads via Bluetooth and not the USB Connection. Also, after starting the vehicle the Entune feature doesn't load right away and sometimes I have to turn my phone off and back on again to get the app loaded. This of course affects the Scout GPS link and Navigation also. Everything is being handled by Bluetooth Connection and not USB direct.

Are you using the latest latest Toyota App on your phone?. The Entune app was discontinued.
if you are using the correct app, just uninstall it and reinstall it again. That fixed issues for me.
otherwise, test on a different phone to determine if it's your phone having connection issues. Maybe even try a different cable. Cheap cables can cause issues.

The old Entune app has a WHITE logo. The replacement current Entune app is RED. Thats the difference when you download. Personally I think the way Toyota setup the operation of their app and Scout really leaves much to be desired.
Entune is not a stable application when used in the 2018 Camry. Scout would not be my choice application for navigation although it works well. I don't like the idea that I have to pay an annual fee to us it either. Toyota should design in a navigation system that works standalone like Garmin or allow me to use a different app like Waze. This is my number one grip about my Toyota Camry.

The Scout app is terrible and also was Entune. I have a 2018 SE Camry that I had CarPlay installed for my iPhone. The 2018 Camry did not come with CarPlay, but when it was offered in later models, Toyota was offering to install for you if you didn't have it. I was lucky and my dealership did it for me for free. I heard some dealerships were charging to install it. CarPlay let's you communicate with your iPhone thru the Infotainment unit in your car. Unfortunately, you can't do this wirelessly with the Camry. You must have it connected via an USB cable. If you have an Android phone, I'm not sure about Android Auto, but check with your Toyota dealer.

Android auto is not backwards compatible. 2018 can only have CarPlay.

The workaround seems to be to buy the ApplePie mini. That allows you to basically run Android Auto on your 2018/2019. It costs about $200 (CAD) but gives you full Android functionality.

CONS are the initial cost and the delay when turning on the car (maybe up to 30s before its loaded? vids if you search it)

PROS are you get AA and don't have to pay a subscription fee for Scout which is nowhere near as good as Gmaps or WAZE anyway.

Personally I don't use nav software very often, and I don't watch videos or do internet on my head unit in the car... so I'm sticking with stock and will use my phone for NAV as needed.

I tried using Entune for about a year after purchasing my 2014 Avalon Limited. I found it to be very kludgy. Now, I stream my music and use the Nav on my iPhone. I will also use the radio at times. With Entune, I always had to remember to launch the app on my iPhone first and then turn on Entune. It sometimes connected successfully, but usually not. I also found it to be very distracting while driving, which most infotainment systems are.
