Did you specify exactly which model you have when ordering? There’s quite a few different alternator model numbers. Check at rockauto.com to make sure you got the right one. There’s a SOHC model as well as a DOHC model:

 

I'm not looking for the whole alternator, just the plug is what I'm replacing as in the picture. I was able to fit it on, it just was a tighter fit than I expected but I think the oring was making a seal so it felt harder than it really was. I'm now about to solder but I'm not sure how to go about it as the new wire has different color wires going to the back of the plug. Since it's the same pin pattern I assume to just solder based on the locations of the old plug/pins, ignoring the colors, but I'd rather double check as I've never done anything involving wiring.
