I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla S. With the factory stereo in it. Right now. I know i can get a plug and put in back of deck so i can play my Ipod on it.

Right now its too cold to do that work
so i got a FM transmitter

however I tried it and for some reason not able to get my Ipod to come on the stereo.

I have FM transmitter to empty station and my car radio to same channel and i only get static.

what am i doing wrong
FM Transmitter is a Monster brand. suggestions please

I got one like this in '09 http://www.monsterproducts.com/productdisplay.asp?pin=5337 (I don't know if it's the same but aesthetically it is). I think before they started getting the kits to plug into the back of the factory radio.

TBH the range on mine is really short. I usually have to put the ipod/iphone with the transmitter on the back seat (so that it's directly below the roof antenna) for a 'Decent' signal with the radio at higher volume than usual. Otherwise it's just drowned out even on a dead station.

I would not recommend this product now... especially considering the GTA kit is exactly the same price.

While I don't have a monster brand FM transmitter, I do have a MacAlly brand transmitter from five or six years ago that works fine with the standard OEM six disc CD/radio head unit in an O5 Corolla.

First thing to try is to see if you can get the FM transmitter to work either in another car or on a portable radio or home stereo system. The trick is to isolate if the unit itself is the problem or if the problem is with the Corolla S radio. If the FM transmitter works in other cars or with other radios then try setting the FM transmitter to a different FM channel (if your unit supports multiple channels). Try moving the FM transmitter closer to the radio. Mine sits below the radio when plugged into the cig lighter/accessory power adapter.

Would This Car Deck Fit Corolla Good?

Just need some suggestions on this. Figure I make a new thread. Thinking of getting a new car deck for my 05 Corolla S.

Would this Deck

Pioneer 2-DIN CD/ MP3/ USB Car Receiver with iPod/ iPhone/ Android Control (FH-X700BT)

at link http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/prod...rol-fh-x700bt-fh-x700bt/10220448.aspx?path=36a0f3d3a4f589e7fdf58da5684c3bb5en02

Would this fit and look well in the car. not chopped up the dash etc?

Thanks just want car to still look decent, not like some kid threw up all over it. thanks

Ive never had luck w those fm transmitter. I Just stepped up to this unit from Crutchfield:

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_500UTE42BT/Alpine-UTE-42BT.html?tp=5684

Has usb and the headphone jack on the front. Also supports bluetooth! which was the selling point for me. Sounds great, looks great, performs flawlessly. My wife doesn't mind talking to me again when I'm in the car, she hated my headset!
Note: This is a media unit, no cd or tape!
