Hello Folks
Wonder anyone here had their Tundra specifically 05/06 frame replaced, If yes when did you get it done.?
I have read a lot on other forum re 2000-03 & 2007/08, Sequoia's but my concern is only 04-06..tundra. Thanks in advance.

I had the frame replaced in my 06DC in Dec 2015. I had my done by a dealer that had a dedicated team of mechanics that was thoroughly trained by Toyota and did all of their frame replacements. Overall, I have been very pleased and have only had a couple of minor problems and/or complaints....minor leak of windshield seal behind the dash, but only in heaviest of downpours at highway speeds and not a significant amount, so I'm leaving it alone....soft brakes were a problem when I first got the truck back (all the brakes lines were replaced with the frame), but I bled the system, adjusted the rear shoes, and reset the LSP by-pass valve to eliminate the problem.

06 DC Frame Replacement

Yes, the frame replacement for my 06 DC was done under the factory recall program and didn't cost me a dime. To the best of my knowledge, the Tundra frame program included all first gen Tundras that had spent most of their life operating in northern states (aka the land of road salt). 2006 was the last year of first gen production. If a specific first gen vehicle is not eligible, my guess is that Toyota has information (service records, insurance records, etc...) that shows that the truck hadn't spent most of its life in one of the eligible states, even if there is significant rust on the frame. When I signed off on the paperwork, when picking up the truck, the "invoice price" for the work done was slightly over $10K! There's no way I would have done that on my dime. I love my Tundra, but not that much

So personally am SOL as my truck original purchase is SC (south of mason dixon line — no road salt). Am driving it north for towing my RV. Will try to keep it southern location and apply farm tractor rust proofing control methods yearly.

ive owned my 06 DC since new here in eastern part of PA, and there was never a frame recall for my truck. I have contacted toyota and they told me that they NEVER replaced DOUBLE CAB frames on 04,05.06 trucks, only the access cabs and reg cabs got frames, the 4.7 will last a million miles, but the frames wont even get close to that. if i got a new frame, id be super happy, but then again, these trucks rusted thru the bed floors badly as well. its recycled junk metal. MY GMC yukon frame looks nothing like the rust on this Toyota frame.

Similar here in connecticut for later gen1 tundra's. Toyota called for multipoint frame inspections on the 00-03 tundras, but nothing about the 04-06 ones. They replaced the rear spare tire crossmember on a friends 01 tundra that was part of the tsb on those, but deemed the frame good, as he had the truck undercoated when new.
