it should be possible, i dont think theres alot of visual differences between the 2 engines no

 

The 7A is a little taller than the 4A, shouldn't pose an issue though. The biggest potential issue could be under the car. The gas tank and exhaust are in the way...not to mention I think you need to swap rear sub frames.

 

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i don't believe the seventh generation came had an AWD frame anywhere in the world.

I know the sixth came with "all trac" as an option but i'm not sure if it would be possible to swap a seventh gen body onto a sixth gen frame

 

The AWD 7th gen does exist... though in northern European countries where they have snow all the time.

I would HIGHLY recommend to drop the AWD idea right now. Just save yourself the trouble and get an AWD car lol. Or put snow tires on and that will be enough.

 

They have them over in Asia too

 

Japan frequently has AWD options for just about every FWD compact and midsizer, even the minicars they have there.

 

I'm not sure what the import laws for JDM cars are like in the United States but if you get your hands on a company that specializes in importing them you can have the entire drivetrain swapped over to yours.

Or alternatively, just convert the entire imported car to left hand drive.
