I drive a bit of rural or dirt roads so as a consequence particulate dust accumulates into the closed gas door inside/around the gas cap. Eventually, when you go to fuel up and put the cap back on it will turn closed but not click anymore.
Remove the cap and blow it out with compressed air next time you're at the car wash and it'll be just like brand new again ^_^
