I have a 23 Corolla SE, that after hitting a bump, developed a dash rattle that sounds like plastic or something that sounds like it's coming from under the speaker grill/a pillar area of the dashboard. I took the glove box out and the speaker grill out and reached around in there and could not find it still after an hour of looking. I also drove around with the grill and glove box off. I still can't find it. Someone posted this video on YouTube that has pretty much the same sound, but it was posted a year ago and has no comments so I'm not sure that I will get an answer from that person. But here is the video. Has anyone experienced this?

Adhesive backed foam is your friend. There are some parts under there that rattle, and placing some foam in the right spot fixed mine. It took me about three attempts however.

Those grills pop out fairly easy but that funky rubbery finish can become scratched by wiping it with a dry hand, so use something plastic to get under the edges and lift up.

Thank you. I couldn't locate the exact rattle yet. I just popped out the grill and took out the entire glove box and drove around with both of them out and I still couldn't find where they're at all was coming from. When the car is stopped I just reach around and touch a bunch of stuff and thump it to see if it rattles but I still can't find exactly where it's at

I had to remove the speaker and put the foam between some of the components that are underneath where the speaker goes.

It was very hard to find while driving, some of what I did was to rap on the side of the dash that faces the passengers to try and get it to rattle. In the end it was small adjustments that got it to stop, but the adhesive backed foam helped by staying where it was needed.

Thanks again. I was assuming everyone was just going to say that it's a Corolla and to just live with it. I noticed it does it when turning left more on bumpy roads due to the weight loading right. So it's for sure that side. After making a veer left and straightening back out, whatever is rattling gets quieter or stops. Unless the road is super bumpy. I cannot replicate it by tapping on any thing yet though, sadly.

A guy from a YouTube video, that I got very lucky to find and even luckier that the guy came back to respond to my comment, told me the sound was coming from the outside of the car under the windshield glass where the cowl / gutter is. Apparently the dealership he went to found a couple of pieces of metal rubbing together in that spot
