2005 toyota sequoia SR5
So i have the original gray valet key (not black master key). Wife lost the master with fobs. So i call up the dealer and a $800 quote later i start crying inside. I do some research and find out i can program my own remotes, so i hop on ebay and $35 later i go try to get the toyota into programming mode. Looked up all sorts of ways to do it port/factory blah blah. Nothing. It wont enter programming mode. So then it dawns on me that I have the valet key, and that maybe i need to have a master key? I call the dealer again, and they say they will reset the computer and program a new master key for me for the low low price of $400 WTF!? Now i am back on ebay wondering if i should buy the master key for $41 (OEM), and know that i dont have the equipment to flash/reset whatever else is required to reset the computer on the sequoia. I know it will probably take less than an hour, and id rather not pay $360 for an 'hours' worth of labor at the dealer.
Who else can do this besides a dealer? Again, I have a valet key, and am wanting to buy an OEM master and have someone program it for me as a master.
Alternatively, Id like to be able to program the fobs with the valet, but I doubt that this is even possible given how much time/effort I put into finding out that it didn't work.
