Heat Shield?

Question: Will I need a heat shield between the exhaust header and the radiator? The engine is a modified 20V Blacktop.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanks.

The stock 20V heat-shield pretty much just sits on top of the headers facing up, the part of the exhaust that is closest to the radiator (the lower part of the 4 primaries leading in to the collector flange) has no shielding (the 2 secondaries do though)

Was more just pointing out that the factory heat-shield doesn't really protect the radiator so unless you're mounting a turbo there I can't see an aftermarket setup being any worse

Understood. Thanks.

l think some thermal barrier between the header and the radiator make sense. Couldn't hurt. The aftermarket header seems a little closer to the radiator than the OEM setup.

I will not be adding a turbo.

Just looking for cool runnings. Build should be complete soon.

My 20v has an aftermarket header and I used to daily it in the SoCal 100+ heat. No issues
