How does your Corolla handle on slippery roads?

Hello, just thought that I would start this since we just had our first snowfall. (Which by the way came after rain  ) The roads were terrible and I did not like the way that the car acted with a little bit of Minnesota weather...
I am just really hoping that the reasoning behind this is because of the stock tires that Toyota puts on the Corolla. Good thing next year I should have a set of cool rims, summer tires, and then I will just put winter tires on the stock set of rims.

So how does yours handle in snowy and icy conditions?

With winter tires, it handles awesome. Any other type of tire and it's up entirely to luck and the skill of the driver.

I have noticed that since installing a TRD rear sway bar and TRD springs that I am much more aware of the point at which the car begins to lose traction.

+1 Mine does great with my winter wheels & tires on it too. I also have several Ultra Racing suspension pieces in addition to the TRD bars & the handling in dry, wet & snowy conditions is excellent. Here is my winter setup.

winter tires will help for sure. depending on how much snow/ice you get stud winters maybe a good investment.
Studded tires are illegal in many places now due to the road damage they cause. The new studless tires today offer excellent traction even without studs.

Yeah, the amount of ice that we got yesterday morning was pretty bad, or bad enough that everything was glazed over and the plows and sand trucks were not prepared.
Maybe I was just being a wuss as this was the first time I drove my brand new car on ice. xD

Handles just fine with winter tires on it. The stock Goodyear RSAs suck hard, esp in wet, they really like to slide. Not too bad on dry, though. But I like the ABS and stability controls - they were big selling points when I bought it over the Civic or Focus. I used to live in Cleveland with tons of lake-effect snow and I never really had issues with snow. Now I'm in Seattle with winter tires and haven't had any trouble going over snowy passes and getting in and out of ski area parking lots.

I had the Corolla all stock with Winter tires, and it handled tough Winter conditions like a champ! I think I slid just twice and feathering the throttle resolved the situation. As long as you stay alert and aware of how your car behaves, the Corolla handles terrific
