IF TEN SECONDS OR MORE ELAPSE BETWEEN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING STEPS,YOU WILL NEED TO START ALL OVER AGAIN.PREPARE VEHICLE BY CLOSING AND LOCKING ALL DOORS EXCEPT DRIVER'S DOOR SHOULD BE OPEN AND UNLOCKED.

1)STICK KEY IN AND OUT OF THE IGNITION CYLINDER TWICE WITHOUT TURNING IT.

2)CLOSE AND OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR TWICE ENDING IN OPEN DOOR.

3)STICK KEY IN AND OUT OF THE IGNITION CYLINDER ONCE WITHOUT TURNING IT.

4)CLOSE AND OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR TWICE ENDING IN OPEN DOOR.

5)STICK THE KEY IN THE IGNITION CYLINDER.(DO NOT REMOVE OR TURN KEY)

6)CLOSE DRIVER'S DOOR.

7)TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION ON AND OFF TWICE AND REMOVE KEY FROM THE IGNITION.
(AT THIS POINT IF EVERY STEP WAS DONE CORRECTLY,ALL DOORS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK TWICE TO LET YOU KNOW THE SYSTEM ENTERED THE ADD MODE)

8)PRESS BOTH LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS ON YOUR REMOTE SIMULTANEOUSLY FOR ONE SECOND.

9)WITHIN THREE SECONDS PRESS THE LOCK BUTTON ON YOUR REMOTE FOR ONE SECOND AND RELEASE.
(VEHICLE WILL BEEP TWICE TO LET YOU KNOW IT HAS ACCEPTED THE NEW REMOTE.)
TO EXIT ADD MODE OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR AND TEST REMOTE OPERATION.

Btw You can hold up to 4 remotes for the car. so if you wanted to like Me I programmed mine 4 times in a row so now only my car key works for it.

If this doesn't work
go to dealership, they'll help u out

Plz Sticky This

remot of corolla 09

dear all
i have corolla 09 LE this trim come without remot control can i add one to my car without installing new device.

regards
i got same car, electric locks but no remote, mine has shifter engage locks, and i got after market remote, i want to piggyback at the shifter , open all locks with the new remote so i dont have to install actuators in each door, just use the originals from shifter contact. NOW i need to look up color codes for that to know what wire goes where.

My friend used to work at toyota as a mechanic and I had to change out the programming b/c my ex fiancee was cheating on me with another guy I found out and then left me and didnt want to work things out. Btw You can hold up to 4 remotes for the car. so if you wanted to like Me I programmed mine 4 times in a row so now only my car key works for it. It sucks cause she left me before Christmas.

Hey man, thanks for the info. As for the girl, if she cheated on you once, she'd do it again:thumbsdow so don't worry about not working things out. Just be thankful she left before Christmas and you can hopefully return the gifts you bought her. There will be other women that will be better than her so keep your head up.:chug:

These instructions just worked perfectly on my 2010 Corolla S that I bought from Hertz Car Sales with just one remote control key.

Thanks! :D

Now if I could just disable that lock/unlock beep I'd be set. The sound of the doors physically locking or unlocking plus the lights flashing is plenty of notification for me.

Also, I had to perform steps # 8 and # 9 during the same programming session for both of my remote controls (including the original) to get them all to work.

In other words, the first time I did it only my "new" remote control worked and not the original.

Now that I did the "press lock/unlock 1 second" and "press lock" steps on both remotes one after the other, they both work properly.

I thought that I was just "adding" the new remote.

Thanks for the instructions, but I can't get it to work. I get to step 7 where the doors lock/unlock so that I'm ready to add the new remote, but nothing happens when I do the next 2 steps (holding lock/unlock then holding lock). I've tried multiple times. The little red light on the new remote flashes red when I push buttons, so it has power.

Any suggestions? Did I get a bad remote off eBay?

Why if the fob is connected to an alarm? My 09 Toyota Corolla basic SE model goes off when it wants to, the other day I got in & alarm went off, engine wdnt start.

Will buying a new fob allow me to get n and start car without it affecting alarm???
There is most likely an aftermarket alarm wired in which is messing with the car's immobilizer. Your best bet is to bring it in to get that aftermarket alarm ripped out
