Took a hard turn and got some drink spilled on and around the gearshift. Want to remove the trim to clean up, but search turns up empty for 2015 models. Anyone know how to do this? Don't want to break anything...
I asked about removing the center console in another post because of a coffee spill but sorry guys the explanation on how to remove the pieces weren't all that intuitive to me. All the pieces seemed to be a very tight fit and I was afraid I would break something. I just found this picture and description and I will use it as soon as my HL returns from a short trip. I went to put the left drivers seat heat on the other day and first I realized the switch was stuck in the off position probably from the coffee. Once I freed it up the seat still won't heat and the little light on the switch doesn't light up so the switch is toast! I think this is an incredibly bad spot for these switches but if Toyota put them there why not seal them from moisture??? Bad design to have them right beside the cup holders.
I have a question on removing the side rails as they are described above. Aren't the two little sliding accordion doors in the tracks so you can't pull these UP? I tugged on them some but they seemed firmly attached.
I'm still so irritated about the seat heat switches and the 4 switches that sit right in front of the shifter that I'm ready to go in for service and tell them the left heat isn't working. Isn't there a bumper to bumper warranty for 3 years/36 months?
Thanks. This is the first "Dick and Jane" picture I've found and how to remove the console. Phil Leblanc mentioned pictures in a sound deadening post but I couldn't find them. I also realized there is a left and a right switch for the heated seats. Why not just have a "Heat Switch" that will work in either position?
