How to repair dilapidated windows/door trim?

I do not even know what is the name of these four window/door trims. But it looks really awful. The plastic/rubber on top is pretty much all cracked and for one of them the whole piece is going to separate from the car. Anybody knows how to repair or replace them? BTW, what is the proper name for them? Thanks a lot for the help and advice!

(For some reason the picture refuse to rotate. I tried many times w/o success. Sorry for an up-side-down picture.)

I replaced the window trim on my Gen5 2004 SE since it was all dry rotted making a 'buzzing' noise inside my car.

I'm sure the process is different, but it would probably require the removal of the inner door panel and the removal of that square plastic triangle.

That rubber window lip looks like it's been through hell and back in the sun. My 1998 is all like new condition still...

My car spent quite a bit of time in SoCal, so it is not surprising. Hawaii's weather is very moderate, a much better place for cars. The problem is that I simply do not know the proper name for these four pieces, so I cannot even look for solutions. From some discussion on Tacoma forums, these pieces seem to be $40 each OEM. That would be totally crazy. Need to find an aftermarket solution for the bent piece. For the rest, can we just scrape the plastic off and glue some newer rubber on?

The piece on my rear driver side door popped up today and it seems that I have to pony up for this one. This is awful b/c that strip is about $40 each. I tried to get them off some junkyard car and it won't work. I always end up bending the piece while removal. The part for the rear driver side door is called 67872-AA010. The part for the passenger side door is 67871-AA010. Official name is rear door weather strip. If anybody had installed it before, please kindly offer some advice. I have no idea on how complicated this is going to get. Thanks again!

To be complete, the front passenger is 67861-AA020, front driver is 67862-AA020.

Thanks! What kind of tools you used and how did you do it, any details? When you lifted the old one, you had to bend the weatherstrip a bit. But when you put it back in, you can basically bent it back, right?

I have asked a lot of questions for sure. But I do act upon people's advice, instead of wasting others' time. Last time you made a similar comment and this was my reply:

*****************************
I am the first and only owner of my car. And I have broken a long list of things in the past 16 years. I cannot do much because all the OEM stuff are expensive. Thank god people here recommended JY to me and I have fixed a long list of things.

1. Broken shifter cover
2. Broken sun visor
3. Broken rear cup holder
4. Broken trunk weatherstrip
5. Broken front grille
6. Glove box light always on
7. Broken door tweeter cover
8. Damaged battery terminals
9. Broken fuel vapor hose

I also made a few upgrades
1. Add 4 mud guards
2. Changed thermostat housing to aluminum
3. Add a Solara strut brace
4. Got 4 17'' wheels, will add tires

But have to give up replacing door/window trim

After I replace my front bumper and rear trunk cover, I will be done and can finally get my peace back :) Thanks for being patient.
*****************************

Now I have fixed my rear trunk lid and can list it as item 10 being fixed. Along the way many knowledgeable experts here helped me a lot and I am very grateful. I also left my experience here to maybe help someone in the future, e.g.,

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/1...tion-1992-1996-1997-2001/1443282-need-some-advice-replacing-rear-truck-lid.html

Isn't it the purpose of this forum? I have only a couple more questions left. So please bear with me. Finally, my Camry is not beyond point of repair or anything like that. If anything, I am determined to Make My Camry Great Again.

Found two youtube videos on this. Looks like just need to buy the parts. Installation is easy. It takes a lot of skills to remove such a piece from JY.

I did my window seals on my 2004 SE a few months ago as they were pretty dry rot from previous owner not having the car garage kept. Found a nice 2003 XLE V6 Camry in the junkyard that was garage kept. All the door seals were intact, soft, and not dry. anyone with a Gen5 Camry knows that rubber trim around the chrome on the door panels will come off and start flapping with the wind OR cause an annoying buzzing noise (I thought it was interior trim making noise!) by the door which will sometimes go away by applying pressure to the door panel.

I got the trim off by removing the interior panel (more room) and window all the way down, but kept breaking some of the clips. Still fit 80% well though and so far looks and fits fine.

qqzj,

I went back at looked closer at the headlight assy, I posted the picture of and it has BOTH
TOYOTA and KOITO
molded into the lense.

and the housing on mine is definitely Black

( the "bubbles" on the lense is from when I sprayed the last coat of clear, I was at the end of my batch, I'm not worried for two reasons,
A, its now an extra. and B. I can sand them out, I put 5 coats of clear on it )>:D>:D

Thanks a lot! Which year is your Camry? Looks like a 4 Gen. Mine is 4.5 Gen and the lens look different.

The 33040 is the correct part number. It was superceded from the AA010 number to the 33040.
Nice! Never thought you will find and reply to this thread. Thanks a lot for the help. I just searched AA010 on your website and 33040 showed up. Maybe I shall just do this and I can find the updated part number. One more question if I may. How come Amazon can sell OEM parts at half price (actually about 1/3 of the price on dealer website)? I searched around that 33040 is as expensive elsewhere as AA010. It is just that Amazon's price is a lot lower than all other places. Does Amazon get parts at a lower price than dealers? Makes no sense.

It can only be one of a few options. Either it's aftermarket, or someone is selling a part they bought and no longer need. Amazon does not receive parts from Toyota. Toyota dealers may set up an account on Amazon and sell through them, much like eBay. I've looked into it, but the margins just aren't there.

It is actually sold by Amazon, not a 3rd party vendor. That made me very curious. See the screenshot. Maybe a dealer dumped all of its old inventory to Amazon? If so, maybe I should buy the two similar pieces for my passenger side. Anyway, I shall update after I receive the molding.
