I found this at another site that I thought I'd share;

Here's a little more specific sequence for the key itself...

To Program An Additional Key:
1) Place an already programmed Master key (one that works all locks) in the ignition, but DO NOT turn on.
2) Press the GAS pedal five (5) times.
3) Press the BRAKE pedal six (6) times.
4) Remove the key from the ignition.
5) Insert the new key, but DO NOT turn it on.
6) Press the GAS pedal one (1) time only and wait about a minute for the security light to quit flashing.
7) Remove the key and Press the BRAKE pedal one (1) time only.
Wait at least ten (10) seconds, then re-insert the new key and start the car.

You can have a maximum of ten (10) transponder keys programmed into your car.

Also for those of us with a 2006 Toyota Solara SLE, i figured out that the methods used in this video will work for programming a blank transponder key.

I tried the above method, that Phi listed, for my 2006 and it would never enter the programming mode. I tried this on a whim and was successful! I do find it a TAD strange that programming methods for a 2005 Camry would work, but hey! it worked! :)

Annoyingly enough, neither worked for my 2006 Toyota Solara SLEV6 Ragtop. I found this posted by another person and it worked like a charm first time. I hope this helps other users like myself.

Sit in the car with the doors closed and locked.

Put the Master key in and out the ignition five times (without turning it), leaving it in the ignition on the fifth time.

Open and close driver's side door six times.

Pull the Master key out of the ignition

Put the new key into ignition (without turning it).

Wait at least one minute -- you'll see the security light blinking on and off and eventually turn completely off.

Take the newly programmed key out of the ignition and open close the door.

You should now be able to start the car with the newly programmed key.

BTW, I enjoy your website!
