Hi there,

I'm going to be looking at a 2005 Sienna LE with 177k miles tomorrow and thought I'd ask around about anything to specifically check for in terms of maintenance/wear. I always check fluids, cv boots, shocks, etc when I'm looking over a vehicle but wanted to know if there's any known issues that can crop up on this model to watch out for.

I ran a carfax and called the dealership already with the VIN... couple recalls that previous owners to the current owner never got fixed and they declined to have the timing belt changed when they brought it into the dealer -- perhaps they got it done cheaper elsewhere, or perhaps they never did it, will have to see if the current owner has repair records or not...

Anyhow, if anyone has any pointers on things to check for or watch out for under the hood, let me know...

i just sold my 05 with 165K a couple months ago.
really trouble free during my ownership. Just like you listed, check fluids, CV, shift and good service history is a +.
My van did lost steering fluid and I used some "stop leak" and did a fluid exchange myself. So I would suggest you check the steering system. I have owned 04 LE AWD and 05 LE, they are pretty solid overall. High miles won't scared me off.
