I'm looking at a 1992 Previa tomorrow with 215,000 miles. I'm looking to get a Previa so I can haul my mountain bikes around. My parents bought one when I was kid in 1991 when they first came out. It stayed in the family until 2004 and had 235,000 miles on it. Everything worked except the rear diff had that horrible noise I keep reading about. How common is the rear diff noise? How much does it cost to fix? Is it hard to do yourself? Are there any other common problems to look out for? The van I'm looking at passed emissions and the a/c works. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. This forum looks great and I hope to use it more if I buy a toyota.
