Actually that info is more geared towards the MR2s, you could use the GZE tranny from an AE101 GZE on the 3SGTE if I remember correctly, which is already setup for FWD. The GZE tranny from the MR2s are setup to drive the opposite way, you would have to mod it (can't remember how) to actually work with a FWD car.

OR you can use the 5SFE transmission from the Celica GTS or the Camry's.

 

what about the axles? should i just source some ae101 axles?

Not sure about the axles, I've seen this swap done twice on an AE92 GTS and a sedan, both people were a little too secretive and didn't really want to say much.

there is a guy over on turbo corolla that put a 3sgte into an ae82, and he use turbo MR2 axles with st185 alltrac outer cv joints

ive always heard of running the mr2 transaxle on the conversion...ive never really looked into it though. lol turbocorolla.com is so old.

 

Thats because an MR2 is basically an FWD engine layout. with the engine mounted in the back.

 

from what ive read the only thing that you have to change on the mr2 tranny if the shift linkage from one side of the tranny to the other, also alot of people run the mr2 tranny because of its factory LSD

 

I hear people have modified the linkage.. I dont have experience in it, so I cant say.

 

now if i ry to use the e51 from tha ae101 4agze do i have to swap the bellhousng over? because that would be the best idea to make sure the tranny and axles fit perfectly unless the donor car is a super strut setup right?
