looks good man. i like:thumbup:. you should do the alero fogs mod...they look even better:D.
BigB..I bid and bought a set of Alero lights for $40 on ebay and they have the blub, socket and pig tail included. I would like to do a pro install and was wondering if you had the part # for an OEM switch? I have two places on either side of my hand brake that looks like a place to insert a switch. There is also a couple places on either side of the trim around my steering column that have these places that look like they could accomodate a switch.
Any help would be great,

Ahahaha

I wired them directly to the tail lights.

I tried to snake the wire through the firewall but my fat hands failed me once again!

maybe when i have more time i'll do it, plus i have a "ADD A CIRCUIT" from your local autoparts store--> will allow you to splice into a fuse.

most are simple as pie. ground each foglight and the switch, wire straight from the battery using the fuse that 90% of the kits come with to the switch then run the wires to the lights from the other treminal on the switch and....vwalla:thumbup:.

Looks great! and love where you've put them. Biggest thing is ones that aren't too big or they won't fit. Haven't seen alero ones around but will have to start looking.

Not good to wire them direct to anything. You need to run them through a fused relay as it's unsafe to do so otherwise. If you have a lighted switch it'll definitely burn the light out in it and can get pretty hot. [did the lights not come with a relay/fuse/wireing?] If you need a hand let me know.

Usually you wire them either directly to the battery and run them independently, or tie the power to trigger them on through your front parking lights. You don't want to blow your tailight fuse or such when you're driving at night for sure!

I have an inline fuse and everything. When i said I wired them directly, I am splicing into the tail/parking light circuit. I disabled my DRLS so the lights will be on only when I want them to. Plus i like having them on all the time :D
I should wire in a switch but i failed at snaking the wire though the firewall.

As for the sizes: the tallest you can stick in there is 2.5 in. and you have about 4-6 inch width. The ones i got are 2.5 in by 3.5 in.

If ya'll want I can pull up the seller from Ebay.

Thanks everyone

Fuse of course, but are they just directly wired with just a fuse? or are you using a relay? There is a big difference between how the two work.

This is basically how it should be wired. Basically the lights take more draw then the simple switch does which is the trigger. The switch isn't designed for that kinda of draw, as well as tapping a power source already used elsewhere means more of a burden on that specific system, hence why the main power should come direct from the battery. You could eliminate the switch to have power to them all the time, but still, the power comes from the relay, not what triggers the relay.
