Today when I unhooked my battery to put in some new headlights my 1998 t100, my truck quit working. First I unhooked the negitive side of my battery. I then took out the old bulbs and replaced them with new ones. When I went to hook the negitive back up, the alarm went off, the dash lights were blinking in sync with the horn and it wouldn't start. I despretly need to know what I did wrong and what I can do to fix it. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

sounds like you have an alarm issue! aftermarket not oem? need to disarm it assuming you dont have the fob anymore? if you dont there is a vallet button(usually blinking). or you can just remove the pita alarm and reconnect the wires. are you familiar with a dvom or dmm?-------> if so check if your getting voltage to the signal wire of starter or a voltage drop test in the ignition circuit. <----------- off the deep end considering its probally just a faulty alarm.:headbang:

No I have no idea about dvom or dmm. I have been doing some research and I have found out that I have a RS3000 alarm system. In order to disable it I have to find the ECU and disconnect the RS3000 system. The only problem is I have no idea where the ECU is on my 1998 T100. Would you have any idea were it is. I have heard they are located behind the kickpan. Is this true and what does the ECU look like? Thanks.

Open the door, and sit in the drivers seat.
The ENTRANCE DELAY begins
The STATUS Monitor's LED flashes rapidly.
Insert the key into the ignition switch, and turn it to "START"
The exterior lights flash 3 times.
The starter will not start, because the STARTER DISABLE function is still active.
Turn the ignition key back to "OFF", then "START" again.
The STARTER DISABLE feature is deactivated.
The engine starts. ..................try this, got it from the net. specific for rs3000

I did some more research and it turns out that I had the TDS security system. I turned it on then off, on then off, on then off, and it cranked.
Great to see you figured it out.

Really appreciate you posting the answer.

Most folks who are not active members never post back how it was fixed so when you search and find the thread and read it , you find no answer to our own problem that is similar.
