I want to add some extra weather sealing/stripping rubber to the outlines of my car doors. Does anyone have any experience with a good reliable product? I don't want one that is made of foam, but real rubber. When I'm driving, my car is smooth but I can hear the wind noise. I've looked on Amazon, as well as Home Depot/Lowes, nothing available.

you do not say the year of your car.

all cars that are cheap, will have wind noise, it's a given.

now by cheap cars, i mean toyota, honda, etc. once you go lexus, infinity, acura, they make them with better insulation.

if your car is old, then you'd be better of just buying all new weather stripping and be done with it.

you can try to seal up the doors, but the glass is thinner than say a Lexus, and the channel the window rests in, is another cause of wind noise.

you could spend lots of money for a little bit of quiet.

ain't worth it.

it's the way it is with cheaper cars.

The material is made of a rubbery foam, very similar texture and feel to the OEM weatherstripping that's already on the car. The product comes with 2x 8.5 stripping next to each other. They need to be separated. There is a sticky side but it won't be sticky enough. You need to get the weatherstripping glue for this to stick on the car. Don't rush it. The glue needs 30 seconds to be sticky before you can apply it. Run your fingers to put pressure on it to make sure it sticks after you applied it.

First, I had it sealed around all 4 doors. It wasn't completely sealed all around, the door latches and levers had to be left alone, as you can see in the first image. This helped reduce the ambient noises, but testing the car on the highway I was able to hear cars driving by (I had always been able to hear it). I notice it was coming by the windows, so I decided to add more stripping to the gap between the front doors and rear doors, as you can see in the second and third picture. This was what helped reduce the most noise. Now when I drive, all the cars noises driving by me are muzzled. To be able to hear the cars, I have to turn off the A/C and radio. The only thing I could here now is the engine and some road noise. It seems like a gimmick, but I am surprised how well it worked.

Make sure you wear gloves. The glue is very sticky. Lots of warnings on it. Don't get it on your clothing or skin. Its vapors are flammable, so do it outside or open the garage door.
