New Camry Owner - Questions

Hey Folks,

I picked up a Certified 2015 Camry SE in Super White last week. I'm generally pleased with the car but there are a few things I'd like to change.

1) My last car had a convenient spot for me to rest my iPhone but still be able to see it when using navigation. No such luck with Camry. What are some of the mounts you all having been using?

2) Sound - After going through the threads, I've purchased some 3.5" Kickers & 400Hz Bass Blockers which I will install this weekend. I think I will leave the door speaker intact for now. In my car, a lot of the bass seems to come from them I've been playing with the fader and the rear speaker appear to contribute little bass. What 6X9's might add a good bit of bass to the system? It seems that people feel like they lose bass when replacing the door and rear deck speakers. Crutchfield shows a really nice 6.5 mid-bass Rockford Fosgate driver for the door but I think an amp is really needed if I go down that road. Then I'll be shopping amps & subs and it'll get ugly for my wallet real fast.

3) Key Fob - I saw that one guy on here converted his keys to a flip key fob. Is eBay the only source for these? There are 2 sellers from China that have these and that's it.

4) The paint on this car, maybe Toyotas in general, is pretty weak. What do you find works for filling in the chips? Dr. Colorchip? Or something else?

I've got a few other changes in mind but I'll save those questions for a later date.

Thanks in advance!

Mark

I can only answer your first question. I have a 14.5, but I think the dashes are similar to the 15s. I have a scouche magnetic car mount. I absolutely love it. I originally placed it on the windshield on the driver side. I didnt love it there, so I ended up placing it on the only flat part of the dash, which is right above the analog clock. Here is the mount I have. The price on the website is a bit high. I got two for the price they're advertising one

The flip key is available on Amazon too.

As for the paint, yeah it's weak, my old Nissan has tons of chips but none of them are as bad as my Camry, I have one chip on my RR door courtesy of a terrible freeway I have to drive on. I brought mine brand new and it personally doesn't bother me, I got silver BTW because it makes scratches and chips less noticeable. I have not personally used the colorchip but it seems to be very good.
