It's not listed as a supported model by Apple anymore. Could this change in the future?

Toyota's spec page shows the 2024 Tacoma supports wireless CarPlay. Just about all Toyota models are now running the Toyota Audio Multimedia infotainment system, which includes wireless CarPlay.

The reality is that my Carplay can't connect to my 24 Tacoma, while Android Auto works fine. There are a bunch of other threads on the internet complaining about the same issue. I tend to believe that Carplay is a zombie on 24 Tacos. Probably a new software from either Apple or Toyota could fix it later.

I found several posts on TacomaWorld that mention using CarPlay (adjusting sound or "CarPlay is great!"), so I don't think it's a general problem on 2024 Tacomas.

Looking at the list in your first post, it's clearly not updated for 2024 models. According to that list, almost no 2024 cars by any manufacturer are supported.

Focus on your phone and try to figure out why it won't connect. If you post the model and version of iOS, maybe someone can chime in with more specific information.

I remember some random on the internet said Apple was trying to gain more control of the car via the 17.4 update, but Toyota didn't like it. That may be a rumor or some real insider's view.

I'm trying to find any iPhone with iOS 17.4+ that can connect to a 24 Toyota via Carplay. So far I haven't found any.

I've found discussion that iOS 17.4 has broken CarPlay across many manufacturers. 17.4 was supposed to add a new little feature, but instead it appears to have caused big problems. 17.4.1 doesn't fix it, either.

On 2020-2023 (the end of the 3rd Generation), CarPlay is only available through a wired connection to the phone or a third-party CarPlay wireless adapter. The truck doesn't have wireless CarPlay.
