Michael, I'm at 111k miles. I was one of the ones complaining on the other threads about potential transmission failure. I called the service dept at Toyota and the guy said all I had to do to clear the existing transmission "learning" was to disconnect the battery for 1 hour. I did that last night and the transmission is already making better decisions going around turns and when accelerating from a roll in 2nd gear. I pretty much assumed my problems were related to software, since the car shifted fine when in manual mode. I'll report back in a week.
It's back to its old ways, i.e. delayed response, late gear change (like it's downshifting at 2 mph while coming to a stop), delayed gear shift from a slow roll. Going to leave the battery disconnected overnight and see if that's any better.
2108 V6. Did trans fluid, center diff and rear end lube changed at 75000. No issues. Also did blackstone oil analysis at 72,000 mile oil change —- all good. 7000 mi OCI.
2023 SE AWD Nightshade. No issues with trans. 37k miles. Changed trans fluid at 25k. I am meticulous with fluids, including sending samples to Blackstone with this and previous vehicles.
So far, I haven't encountered any issues with the transmission. I’ve already replaced the fluid twice: once at 40,000 miles and again at 60,000 miles
2020 XSE AWD 48k MILES COMMUTER CAR
Car has been bulletproof; not a drop of coolant used and oil levels never change or go down.
Transmission? Shifts just fine by me. Oh and what is the preferred taxi in Boston?
