I own a Toyota Vitz (2015) (Automatic transmission ) model NSP 130 1NR-FE with 55000km and sometimes I hear a one click from the front part of the car once I put it in reverse gear from park (after starting the car) and start moving. The car is usually parked in my garage over night. It usually happens once I going out of may garage and press the brake pedal. Usually I don't hear it again when driving or reversing but there were instant that again in the evening after number hours of park the same sound occurs.

Any one had this problem and maybe can guide me what is happening. The problem is, as I have explained, it doesn't occur everyday.

Thanks

Hi 75aces,

Until now I haven't heard again the click sound. What I doing is that I start the car and drive forward few inches and than put it on reverse and drive my car out of the garage. I doing this since I googled the problem and some people are saying it has to do with the brake shifting to reverse.

Check the engine and transmission mounts. Open the hood and watch the engine as you have someone start the car, apply the brakes (step on the pedal so the car does not move), shift the car into reverse, then drive, then back and forth once or twice. If the engine move more than a 1/4 to a half inch visually inspect the mounts to the engine and the transmission. Any tears or misalinement means Remove and Replace said mount.
