Operate aux lights individually?

This may be a stupid question, but here goes. I picked up a pair of auxiliary lights that I would like to wire such that I can operate each individual light separately (via a separate switch). My question is this: can I do this with only one standard wiring harness (plus a second switch), or do I need to get a whole new second kit, with a second relay, etc., do to this?

And I'll fish further -- has anyone here done this before? A truck I used while in Australia last year operated this way and I really liked it.

I don't know about *individually* - but you may want to check with your local state laws about auxillary lighting. In some states, there are specific regulations for aux lighting in order to pass inspection.

Here in PA - Fog lights come on with low beams and driving lights come on with high beams. You can't have a set of aux lights come on with both high/low beams. Also - they must be 20" apart center to center.

In most cases - you can drive around and not get *caught*, but when it comes time for inspection...you have to unplug or unhook the lights or put light covers on them.

Any light mounted on the vehicle must work at the time of inspection, so says the inspection mechanic.
