well i thought i would show everyone what my camry looks right now....
this is what happens when a mid age guy driving a old pick up forgets to look left when making a turn off route 46 in NJ. i happened to be going down the hill from the car wash with mikey7ds to my house to wax my car. he cut right in front of me at the last second and i had no chance of breaking or swerving without hitting a tree, pole, or another car.
the list is pretty long. its lots of things under bumper but here is what needs to be replaced:
bumper cover, lower grille, upper grille, emblem, passenger side foglight, bumper absorber, bumper reinforcement, both headlights, upper stabalizer/top mount of bumper, radiator support headlight brackets, left and right wheel skirts, left fender, hood, rocker panel left(see pic 2, it actually got touched by fender and the front of it is actually buldging out a bit), underneight/lower engine covers, hood stickers, battery tray,
my paint guy came by like 2 hours later and said it was bad. when the insurance adjuster comes he said to also inspect these things for damage:
front frame rails, cover near left fender/fuse box, radiator supports, inner fender parts, under the bumper and headlights all the different mounts and pieces, foglamp wiring, the wiring behind bumper for lights etc.., hood hinges, and hood latch.
i hit like i said a old pick up. the guy just got out, said he has no damage, sat on the pick up, and looked as if he was just a person passing by. didn't ask if i was ok, didn't call the caps, didn't even say a word to me. luckly mikey was there so we called the cops and directed traffic etc.. i'm ok and the wheels, engine, and tranny are all ok. air bags did not deploy. my dad drove the car the remaining trip home(was blocks away) even though the wheel skirts were rubbing the tires and the engine cover was just hanging along with bumper.
my retrofit is salvagable. i just need to remove the inside reflector/projector mounts and shrouds and transplant to new headlights. no need to redo anything. the left side headlight cracked and scratched my shroud but that i can just touch up as it's just 1 scratch.
i'll try to have my car fixed and ready to meet up with netforcer next month. we might have to move the trip 1 week forward though so i can come down too.
