So after all this time I finally freaking found the PERFECT colored 194 bulbs for the 99 'rolla!

They are from superbrightleds.com and have the perfect brightness and no uneven lighting! I don't know if this has been driving anyone else around here crazy, but I figured I'd put it in here just for reference from now on.

Here's the link to the BULBS and here's a pic of what they look like just in case:

Here's a pic of them newly installed in my car! =D

How do they look in the center console? What size bulb are they? I was under the impression that if you put these in you'd get skewed colors because the center console panels have colored backing. I want to get the whole center console blue, but donno if it would look weird. :-\ Any thoughts?

there the ones to replace 74's. i got them all in white, so no colors are skewed. it looks good, its a nice clean cool white. i would say stick with white, blue would make the red look purple. i got out of the whole colored bulbs/leds a while ago. i only get white to replace any of my interior bulbs, and if its a turn signal or license plate lights. i just like the look of white leds. its just clean.

Yeah! I was amazed with the quality of them! The dim function works perfectly and everything as well as the light dispersement. I thought for sure there were gonna be dim spots on the gauges. I think I might go with blue for the center panels just because I wanna keep the blue theme going.

Milky, how many of those bulbs are located behind the climate control panel?

Yeah, I have to agree. The first 74 bulbs listed are regular LED's, not SMD LED's. The SMD LED's are flat and use filament, which give you an even light dispersement instead of a directional beam as with conventional LED's. If you go with the SMD LED's you should get much better quality. I'm buying them on Friday.

Anyone know which SMD LED's to get? Do I need to have the base along with it, or can I just put them in the base already given.

I'm just gonna buy these ones hopefully. I haven't taken apart the AC/cluster for a long time, and never looked at the bulbs. Hopefully these will work:

I'm not getting the regular LED ones, I'm getting the ones under the first one. THey're listed for $2.49 a piece. How many bulbs are there? (behind the AC cluster, behing the dehumidifier button, and behind the cigarrette lighter) I'm guessing 4 but I'm not sure... Any help on this would be great! =] Thanks!

For the HVAC 74 bulb, you probably should've gone with the the High Power SMD, either the one or 3 SMD version.
yes i realize that now...thats what you get for goin the cheap route huh

theres two 74s for the ac controls and theres one for the ash tray...the dehumidifier is a very tiny bulb i dont know the size of and pretty sure they dont make leds for

cool white. there the smd 3 led kind. and as for the ac button you have to take apart the button and solder in the correct led. its a bit harder. i will also do the same to the led clock and rear defroster, but the red on the hazards is ok in my scheme.

and white is pretty ballin. its a clean look. it dosent get old really.
