Found a really nice 2005 Camry XLE V6. Its got the leather seats, weather-tech floor mats, spoiler, sunroof, everything I want. The car is literally perfect, I haven't seen a used Camry in this good of condition. Problem is the car has 137k miles is there anything I should expect to need to replace now to 200k miles?

Any advice would be great, new tires & brakes, camshaft pulley, lots of service records on the car fax (which has a minor front end collision reported 4 years ago and two owners)

Here are some things to expect that aren't covered there or apparent:

1)Timing belt - to be done every 90k. Verify it was done and expect another at 180, etc. (if done on time).

2) Coolant needs periodic maintenance with Toyota/Japanese specific product. Not to be mixed with different chemistries.

3) Expect new shocks needed all around and possibly rear springs; depending upon usage this can be needed between 75k or as late as 200k.

4) Long-life plugs are good for 100k or more, but are a serious pain to replace because of engine placement of the right bank of the V and require a lot of labor.

5) Lower front and Upper arm of motor mounts consistently wear out on these V6 models. Not a huge deal.

6) VC gaskets usually develop a mild leak; easy to do when changing plugs.

This is not a daunting list of things to be aware of and are not entirely unexpected. These tend to be very trouble-free cars with no "gotcha" items to fear. 137k is really not a "problem" as you say; I'd factor needed repairs/maintenance into the price, get it done and be confident.

1) Shows it was done around 95k miles on carfax
2) Previous owners have a few coolant flushes on the carfax from dealers
3) Ride was excellent, they have to have been replaced already
4) Spark plugs usually arent too bad but prevous owner did those at 120k
5) Good to know
6) Also good to know

Ill have to think about this harder then, I would also hope in 2 years I can get something newer so I dont need it to last forever but confidently going to 4 more years and 60k miles is what I want to have without headgaskets being likely to blow or the tranny going out, big repairs like that. Almost all of Toyotas scheduled maintenance was done on time at a dealer.
