Rav 4 2az-FE petrol consumption problem

Hello everyone, I have a Toyota RAV4 2002 (3doors)

My car gives me 200 km per tank (which I know is not normal)

I had done OBD test on the car and there are no errors on any of the sensors except for the gear box sensors since the car is converted from automatic to Manuel

Can anyone suggest how can I improve the fuel consumption on this car?

Has it done better in the past?
How many miles on it?
OEM size tires?
No codes, but does it drive the same as in the past? Start, idle, accelerate etc.
Are you relying on the fuel gauge or did it run out of gas on you?
It won't use everything in a tank but I think that one holds 14.5 Imp. Gallons.
Did you get the 200 km the old fashioned way, fill up drive 100 km and fill up again and do the math for mpg.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Thank you for the warm welcome and replying.

I bought the car and it is was already converted from auto to manual. I filled up the tank full several times and the speedometer never exceeded 190 Kms to 213 Kms on a tank and I have a reserve light again.

When I bought the car, it already had GT wheels on them is that the reason for the over fuel consumption

As I have inquired this engine give up to 450 - 500 Kms per tank

Have showed some garages around but they said plugs and coils are fine and no errors on the sensors or airflow sensors

What size tires are on it?
Are you sure it has a 2-AZ, can't find info on any that show that engine, all are 1AZE, 1.8 or 2.0L. @az started in 2006, maybe that's what the drive train came out of. Maybe if it did the ECM isn't correct.
Fuel tank pick up tube/filter screen on the pump in the tank maybe damaged or have a restriction.
It looks like it has a regulator on the pump as well, not sure how that works.

So is the ECM for the 1A or is the correct ECM for a 2A in it.
You mention codes from it's conversion from an A/T to a Manual.
That power-train needs the correct ECM, if it's throwing codes because it doesn't know what gear it's in then it's chasing it's tail in regards to efficiency. It can get close to prevent damage or being stranded but not fuel efficiency.

Alright, I think I’m finally getting to the point here.

I’m not sure if the ECM is for 2A, so I’ll have it checked this week.

And yes, the ECM is throwing gear codes, which, as you pointed out, could also be the reason for the increased consumption.

My next step is to get the ECM checked and see if I can switch to a manual gear ECM.
