Update: I got the trunk open by lubricating the lock with WD40. The trunk release lever also works. The trunk latch is broken in one part, but I will update this post when it's fixed.
Original : I have a 2013 Corolla LE that I can't open the trunk to anymore. The trunk release lever by the driver hadn't been working so I used my metal key on the trunk lid to open it. Unfortunately, I had problems with the lock and when I went to turn the key, it bent it. Thankfully, I got spares made, but the new keys won't open the trunk with a normal key turn and I don't want to risk bending another key.
Currently the lock is in the horizontal position where I read means it's in valet mode which disables the trunk release lever. The back seats are up and the seat release is located in the trunk.
What options do I have? My guess is that folding the rear seats down would be easiest but I don't know how to do that without accessing the trunk.
