I drilled 2 holes in my chrome bumper for the lower license plate mounts. I sprayed the back of the bumper (near the holes) with black rustoleum. Then I sprayed some on a piece of cardboard and used a q-tip to put paint inside the holes and around the outside on the front of the bumper. Did it over a year ago and still no rust.

 

You can coat the screws with silicon caulk before screwing them in.

Put some spray in bedliner (can of duplicolor about $7.00) on card board and paint it on with a Q-tip. Rust-oleum works great too but the bedliner stuff is ruberised.

 

Sorry this is a little late in coming, but the week has been busy. I wanted to thank everyone for their suggestions, they are all very helpful. Now I just need the courage to do the actual drilling. Thanks again!
