Anyone else experience the transmission automatically shifting to 1st gear and wanting to stay there in automatic "D" ? sometimes when I'm pulling out in a parking lot or stop light and my acceleration is slow 5-10mph for more than a few seconds the transmission will shift to 1st gear and want ton stay there for an extended period until I reach a higher RPM or bump the gear shift into S then back to D

The transmission learns your driving style. Its doing this based on your throttle inputs. The trans is going to automatically choose the best "gear" for it to be in. If it's staying there is means your not going fast enough for it to upshift or it's anticipating you wanting to accelerate harder soon based on your previous driving habits.
Seems normal for this transmission it appears to get confused about upshifting, for me it has eventually shifted on it's own without me doing anything. If I increase RPMs it will upshift.
