Well i was running late to my first day of school and not wanting to get dropped for not showing up i tried my luck going into the car pool lane(91 West) by myself thinking my heavely tinted windows would disguise me.....BAD IDEA after 10 miles a motorcycle cop lights me up and i pull over he writes me up for having tinted windows and for being in the carpool lane by myself he also tried getting me for my exhaust but the trusty TRD certificate prevailed.

My question i;m asking is, the tinited window citation says its uncorrectable so wut do i do? just pay a fine? because i thought they were fix it tickets where u had to take off the tint then show it to an officer and get it signed off.also how much of a fine will i be looking at?

my second question is for the car pool lane violaton will i get points on my record for that? also how much of a fine will i be looking at?

anyway to reduce the fines on any of these?
any advice?
o yea i'm from CA. :sosad: :sosad: :sosad: :sosad: :sosad: :sosad:

Well the carpool wasn't a good idea but as far as the tint goes, hmm it depends. What % are the front windows 'cause the back ones don't matter. I have 5% on the rear 5 and that's legal as for the front they have to be 70% or a little lower. Get more info. you may contest it if your wish but it'll drag out the court date once you go and contest it. But try and contest it.

dam that really sux, and that i'm sure it even made you miss your classes :(
well, i think you can try to contest it, but it seems like you have no other reason to speed other than telling the judge that you were late for school? :dunno: but never-thee-less...sux what happened, you'll just have to wait for the mail to arrive and see what the fines will be...and it wont be pretty :sosad: :thumbdown

If traffic laws are the same over there like they are here in NYC, you'd get points for all of the violations. If I got as many tickets as you did in 1 night, he would have probably supsended my license.

That is bull shit.... CHP did that to me too. They said my window tint was uncorrectable. When I went into court.... the judge looked up the law and had one of the cops write it off right there with no fine.

I couldn't get a police station to write it off though because it was checked as non-correctable. CHP's are ass holes.

I wasn't in court for just the window tint.... but I'm sure you could do the same kinda deal... especially since you ahve that carpool ticket. Btw.... carpool violation is a HUGE fine... like $300 i think. I got 88 in a 55, tinted windows and no front plate.... :(.... I'm fighting it so don't know how much it will be.

I got a speeding ticket sunday, he clocked me going around 90 in a 65. 90 is like a felony here in cali. so he wrote it 80+. Reason i had to get my wife to the hospital in clovis which is like 45min. to and 1hr. depending on how fast u drive. Well sadly to say she had a miscarriage a couple weeks ago and had to wait for the doctor to extract it depending on the size. But all he said was, "I got u going 90, can i see your liscense", and that's it. Usually they ? u about that but i didn't have time to argue so to the court i go, again. I don't know if i can contest it on that basis or maybe i should've told him right then and there, i don't know. Law-6 and Chris-0

^ damn, that sucks....

but I'm sure if you go to court with written documents from your doctor at the hospital, you can get it off

and I'm sorry to hear about your wife's miscarriage :sosad:

when was the ticket? wut exactly did you say/ do? i really want to make it correctable because a fix it ticket is like 10 bucks.

*Anyone know a way i can get my fees reduced? I just spent all my money for school tuition and books and i cant afford a fatty ticket like this one?

I got a ticket for tint on my 81 Tercel while going through a checkpoint on my way home in Brooklyn.

Unless I was able to literally prove that my tint was legit, using that device that measures the darkness, there was no way I could fight the ticket in NYC. This is what I was told in court.

Mind you, while I'm getting written up; a Mustang with all limo tint passed the checkpoint and didn't get stopped...

...go figure. :naughty:

The ticket was late November. I just told the judge that I thought window tint tickets were correctable... and that I have peeled the tint off. She pulled out a massive book.... looked up the law.... and told me to find an officer walking around and have them write it off. $0 fee. Actually.... if you take your car to CHP instead of the Sherrif... they won't charge you.

so bascially your saying i can go to court for the tint violation. argue that its a correctable offense. also show prrof that i got the tint removed and just pray the'll let me off?...o yea so you bascially plead not guilty to the tint violation...

or my second option is get the tint removed and make an appointment with the CHP and the'll write it off?

sorry i'm a total noob at this

kinda new to posting or getting tickets? j/k.

I had my Ls for almost 3 years without getting pulled over once, then I got pulled over, 3 times, in three days, with three tickets. The 2nd time they cops just wanted to search the vehicle, they said they was gonna impound it otherwise no ticket or anything else from that time. The 3rd time I was coming back from lunch and this pudgy cop heard my radio and pulled me over, and was so upset that I wouldn't consent for a search that he asked me if I had a front plate and when I said yes he checked and returned with 2 tickets instead of three.

Nowadays when I get ticket, which is rare, I go to the traffic court wait in line and ask for a court appointment. To be more exact I keep going back to the clerk and ask for as many extensions as I can get and when they tell me that I would have to either pay or get a court date I choose the court date and schedule it as far in the future as I can. In Santa Clara and Alameda county, the judge (also called commisioners, magistrates and some other shit) will usually reduce the charges and fine amounts to a bare minimum, or by around 60%. Usually I plead guilty or no contest/no contendere. If you want to plead not guilty, I don't see how you have a case and since I am not a lawyer I CAN'T advise you not to do that even though I would want to.

My last ticket was for amplified radio, and the cops wrote down "loud boom/boom music" on the ticket and I went to court and got the 130 fine reduced to 60. It was hella funny because the commissioner asked me about the 'boom music' and made me promise to roll up the windows whenever I played it. By the time my case was called the audiance was filled mostly with juvenile traffic court kids waiting for the next session and everyone was laughing.

You may want to inquire locally if they reduce fines by going to court in your county, or in your specific district within your county. Some counties do not reduce (I don't think), namely Sacramento. If you want to resolve this ASAP consider just scheduling a court date and tell the judge about the tinting issues, or at least get a court order enabling the possibility for the violation to be written off if it was marked as non-correctable. The retail cost of those tickets ~340+130=470 makes sense economically unless you didn't wanna take time off from your 300 a day job. Just don't be late for court and show up because about 1/3 don't show up and if you don't show up they give you a warrant.

Yes, it is a moving violation. I believe the fine is $271.
You can go to court and try to have it reduced. If you got pulled over by the CHP you're kind of scewed; they are required to go to their hearings.

My advice - stop breaking the law.

You can expect that from someone who got their bar card in a cracker-jack box! But at least I got the second part right, though I've seen all the 271 signs replaced by 340 over here.
The Bay Area is weird about HOV lanes though. Whenever I drive there to visit my girlfriend's family, it's weird to see people in the carpool lanes. Then I realize it's not 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

it's more complicated then that, carpool is typically 6a-9a, 3p-7p except on i-80 between oakland and alamo where it is like 5or6 -10a, 3-7p - also carpool is 3people on I-80 and also on some bridges. the only place where there are 2 carpool lanes is on the oakland side of the bay bridge where some merge. there is only one exit-on-the-left outside of san francisco and that's like in richmond.

whenever I go down there I always think it's weird that you have double yellow lines, 24-7 carpools, and barbed wire crowning the freeway signs - at least around the echo park area. also weird, i-5 is like 20 lanes wide, that's right 20-fu__ing lanes wide, wide as a football field I think like in anaheim or something.

dude, another thing, the sun rises and sets sooner there than it does here. in june it is still light around 9:00.

So what is your impression of the bay area? I know that it is not quite as big as LA, but at least it has more densely populated places like SF and Oakland. I might just move down there though, I'm tired of these winters were it doesn't always get warmer than 60 degrees.

Hahaha, yeah I love Anaheim. Fucking carpool is 2 lanes each direction.
I prefer the Bay Area, people are nicer. I like the weather too, not as hot (I live in the valley).
