Hey everyone,
I went down to the local Toyota Dealership in search of a skid plate for my truck. I own an 02 Tacoma double cab "Prerunner" and the problem arose that skid plates r for 4WD. After looking at the book, the man behind the counter seemed confused as me so I left it at that. Does anyone know if the skid plates will fit the prerunner models with no special modifications? Thx.

It should fit no problem, it has three j-clips that hook into the front of the radiator and press up against the frame. The problem is the nuts that hold the bolts that lock it into place. Off the top of my head I'd say there are 7 nuts that are tack welded to the frame (pretty crappy job too). There are three in the front (for the j-clips), 2 on the upper part of the frame (middle of the skid plate) and two on the low end (back of skid plate). Check to see if you have these, if you do just order the skid plate you'll be good to go. If you don't you will have to either weld nuts on or come up with another method of hanging the plate. If you have any problems finding them I can take a pic of my truck if you need it.
