Im going to be installing some 5 1/4" component speakers in the door of my pickup and im just wondering if anyone has tried the kick panel speaker pods. I would like to install the speakers in the door but I dont know if there is enough room for a speaker a tweeter and a crossover and I dont want a bunch of speaker sticking out of the door so I had thought about kick panel speaker pods? Any thoughts? Thx

I know there is plenty of room if you have wing vents. I mounted my speakers straight into the door frame and just cut a hole in the door panel. Then I attached speaker covers to the door panel to give it a good look.

I used this to cut the hole in my door panel, it worked pretty well for a cheap tool.

I don't think canadian models had wing vents .. I've never seen one up here anyways ..

I put 5.25's in my rear access panels, in the side of the extended cab portion.. I kick my door often when I'm opening it so I'd put a boot through the speaker daily..

But there certainly is room for a 5.25 in the door itself, put the tweeter on the A pillars and the crossovers under the dash.
