I have a 2006 Tacoma with squeaky brakes. Is this something that is covered under warranty?

yes, it is something that is covered under warranty. a couple things to keep in mind though- if it does it after sitting overnight, you can consider that normal. especially from the rears. if it does it from time to time and goes away, that too is pretty normal. they are going to build up a little brake dust and make some noise from time to time. if it is something that happens all the time, you may want to consider taking it in, but- the only thing they will do if they do anything for you at all is replace the pads with thte same pads you already have on your truck. if it is characterisitc of the pads, it will not solve your problem. at least not for long. i haven't had any abnormal noise from my brakes and i haven't really heard of people having problems with it.

I'm pretty sure brake pads are not covered under warranty items, unless they are defective. Brake pads aren't covered for normal wear & tear.

I've got about 9000 miles on my truck. The sqeaking brake pads are embarassing.
Same here, it's a 6 month old truck but you'd think it was a 20 year old beater from the sounds of it coming to a stop.

I have the same issue as well, but only when braking while in reverse. Sitting overnight, it will squeak in the morning when backing out of the garage. After sitting for ~6-8 hours at work, I'll back out and get the squeal. I had the dealership look at it when I went for 8k service and they said they made an adjustment. It seemed alright for a while, but its still there now, just not quite as loud anymore. Still shouldn't be happening. I'll admit it is embarassing when co-workers are looking at my new truck and it's busy squealing as I leave. :sosad:

I have the squeek in the front just as you let up a little before a complete stop. I have a 05 taco and I hear it all the time in gridlock, driveways, etc. It really is annoying. I only have 30K on it and I know pads last longer than that. I guess I am going to head to the parts store for replacements...
