I saw this at Harbor Frieght. It costs $5.60 with the ubiquitous 20% off coupon:

This stuff any good? Good for brake caliper slider pins/rubber boots? How does this compare to Napa Sil-Glyde, which is what I have been using. How does it compare to the much more expensive stuff?

I’ve got a tube of it. I use it on sway bar bushings and faucet washers. Anywhere I need a waterproof grease.

Never used it on brake caliper slide pins. I use Toyota’s “rubber grease” for that. P/n 08887-01206. It’s about $15 for a 100 gram tube, which will last a lifetime for a typical DIY’er.

Beats me! Maybe that’s for newer Toyotas?

It's good stuff.. it's a silicone grease.

Silicone grease is your brake and dielectric greases.

They make a good brake grease.

It's interesting, though, because this synthetic multi-purpose grease isn't even shown on their website. They have the brake grease you mentioned, and o-ring grease, among other products, but not the one I found at HF. I wonder if it is a discontinued product and that's why HF has it for cheap? Perhaps it is really the same thing as their o-ring or brake grease? :dunno:

SuperLube is what I used instead of White Lithium Grease on door hinges, hood latchs etc. White Lithium turns yellow, and the spray can is not as easy to control. Superlube won't drip down, and it's almost clear. It's silicone grease with teflon. I also use it to lube my ratchets. It's great when you need the lube to stay put, and not affected by too extreme temperature.

Brake caliper grease is rated for higher temperature. S ome are formulated to be stable in racing condition. I don't think the Toyota brake grease is suitable for racing.

I would use Superlube in caliper sliding pins, but not on the back of brake pads.
