Swapping the OEM halogen housing to OEM hid housing? Can it be done?

I have an 07 Avalon XLS with the OEM halogen housings, and I was wondering if I can buy the HID housings that came with the Touring, or Limited and plug/play?

Probably would be better off finding LED bulbs that fit, HID housings have different wiring as the low beam plugs into the ballast instead.
just convert to 9011 / 9012.
9011 in the high beam spot is a super easy upgrade if you don't want to go the LED route (or if you have HID housings and can't find an LED bulb that fits behind the housing cover). I have a pair of 9011 that I moved between a few cars before finally my 2011 and then eventually switching them out for LED. I would guess a 9011 is probably 150% the output of a 9005.

What do you recommend for the two running lights in the center. I have the 12 limited and am almost ready to renew those. I would like to stick LEDS their that make good running lights. Not daymaking night time lights.

I know the orange “light piping”, as Toyota calls it, across the top of the headlight is lit by the side marker light on the outside edge and then also lit by a small bulb on the top of the headlight assembly underneath the radiator cover on the inside edge of each headlight. I think I remember both are clear so I’ve considered replacing them with amber halogens or a white or amber LEDs if it would fit to make it more orange colored or brighter. That strip across the top would’ve been a cool (and also newer Toyota/Lexus matching) DRL light if it was LED white. If the pipe itself isn’t colored orange you might be able to make it whiter with LED still but they only come on with the headlights anyways, and the amber is a nice contrast to the white headlight from the front imo. I’m not a fan of switchback turn signals and stuff that make the ‘supposed to be amber’ marker lights all white.
