I know there are two main names in the rear sway bar/torsion bar game for the E120 : progress and ultra racing. But there is one name I cant seem to find any feedback on : Hardrace. I've looked for reviews and comparisons but Its seems to only ever be mentioned in name only. The hardrace RSB is 25mm, hollow and about half the price. Tempting but my gut tells me its too good to be true. Does anyone have any sort of experience with this RSB? Is it worth it at half the price?

With my primary question out of the way, I understand the E120 responds well to RSB upgrades, would it be a smart Idea to also pair a rear strut bar? I plan to keep the stock ride height and spring rate for a while. My only real objective with these upgrades is to make the car more confident in a straight line. Hopefully net some improved turn in/out too.

Hardrace is well known and proven manufacturer. No problem going with that. Either one will be fine. If you want the best of the best for confidence inspiring driving would be Polyurethane control arm bushings, polyurethane sway bar bushings, front and rear strut brace, subframe brace.
That’s all you need to get started. But the next step after that in the big boys club is coilovers IMO.
Ultra Racing is the best handling mod brand for our cars hands down. No contest

I appreciate your input friend, thats good to hear about hardrace. That can save me a few bucks to put toward an ultra racing brace I cant get from other manufacturers.

Since I have the S trim Im going to try and keep the suspension mods tame. This is my secondary daily and I want to keep the ride relatively gentle. But If I ever get into an XRS Ill follow your recommendations and then some.

I would add, that it also helps to add a sway bar in addition to the rsb. Look into a fsb too. If I’m not mistaken, there was a TRD kit back in the day. You’ll have to look high and low for this kit if you wanted it.

My old set up was, DC2 2 point front strut bar, progress rear sway bar and Ultra Racing chassis bar that is behind the rear seat back. Running with oem 16x6.5 oem wheels. Stock struts and springs. Reduced body roll, over and under steer corrected. I’m confident that with the added struts and springs or coilovers, it would have been more firm and less aggressive.

Ended up going with the Megan Racing FSB mr-sb-tco03fu-1p and Ultra Racing rear torsion bar UR-RT20-216.

Right out of the gate there is a marked improvement.

Steering through corners feels quite a bit more direct even if there is still a noticeable amount of body roll. I'm running 60 sidewalls so I expect this.

70+ mph straight line feel is confident and steadfast. The car no longer feels like it wants to walk all over the lane when you're in a semi's wake. And the minor high speed vibrations through the steering wheel have been knocked down to barely noticeable. I understand this might be a symptom of worn components at 120K but the improvement gives me another source of feedback which is always nice.

Didn't take me more than an hour to install these two mods, well worth the price.
