Bought one of Marlin Crawler's rebuilds second hand and was told it would fit my 3.4L (5VZFE) Tacoma but found out the T100s are passenger drop transfer, unlike the driver drop of the Tacomas/ 4runners too late. Anyhow have a brand new niche Transmission looking for a new owner in central (Bay area) California. Have the build sheet/ invoice from Marlin which matches the order tag on the trans. zero miles, never installed, ready to go!

That would be an excellent trans for a solid axle swap on a Tacoma or 4Runner. I'd have bought it from you, but I just got my transmission back from Marlin Crawler last month. They did a pretty good job. My only two nitpicks are that the blasting media they use on the housing is way too aggressive, and whoever built mine bent the pins on my shifter base, so I had to get another one. Their tech pressed the dowel pins for the bell housing in crooked too, but I was able to make it work. It shifts great on the truck.

You probably know this now, but for everyone else. There are 3 versions of the R150F.

Version 1 was available on Pickups and 4Runners from 1988-1995 and T100s with the 3.0L V6. It has a tailhousing for a passenger drop transfer case and the short input shaft.
Version 2 was available only on T100s with the 3.4L V6 (1995-1998). It has the longer input shaft, but retains older tailhousing for the passenger drop transfer case.
Version 3 was available on 1st generation Tacomas, 3rd generation 4Runners, and 1st generation Tundras with the 3.4L V6. It has the long input shaft and different tail housing for a driver drop transfer case.

Marlin makes some more distinctions on their website, and this may be because Toyota changed the helix angle of the gears at some point. They are THE experts on these transmissions.
