Tail lights, parking lights, instrumer cluster lights NOT WORKING!

This is a continuation of my other thread regarding adding auto dimming rear view mirror with compass and integrated map lights (from a Chevy HHR)

That project as a whole went relatively well and I got all the desired functionality (no OnStar).

The issue is as follows:

I tapped into the tail light fuse for the map lights (constant power from battery) and tapped into the AC fuse for powering the auto dimming mirror+compass.
After I plugged everything back in, I do NOT have any of the items on the tail light fuse circuit (no cluster lights, no parking lights, no tail lights).

Things I have checked:
  1. Removed the fuse tap for the tail light fuse and switched to a new 15A fuse -> no change
  2. Things I verified that work ->
    1. High and low beams
    2. All 4 flashers/hazard/turn lights
    3. Brake lights
    4. Reverse lights
    5. Fog lights
    6. DRL/Auto headlights
    7. Power windows
    8. AC blower/heater and AC compressor
    9. Rear de-frost
    10. Horn (yes, BOTH of them work!)
    11. Remote lock/unlock
    12. Heated seats! (which are tapped into the cigarette lighter and washer fuses)
    13. 12v/cigarette lighter
    14. The dimmer switch "works" : I can get the dome light to turn on/off using the dimmer switch.
    15. Wipers/windshield washer
    16. Idiot lights all come on

I saw a video online of a dude having a 2004 Matrix and he showed his car having 4 relays tucked away behind the glove box (I only found 3 relays - 1 big square one and 2 small ones -> I have spare smaller relays and it made no difference. I don't have a spare relay to swap out the bigger square one). None of the relays showed outwards damage of thermal/heat damage (red circle shows the spot of the big square relay).

    1. Anyone know what these relays are?
    2. There are also relays above the under dash fuse box. Could any of those be causing this issue?
  4. Verified that the 100A alternator fuse is also fine
So what gives? I'm really lost here. Can't really drive the car with no interior cluster lights given that it gets dark so early now.
Is my location of grounding causing an issue?
The blue circle is the ground screw where heated seats are and the red circle is the ground screw where the mirror is grounded. Any advise on what else is connected to that ground screw?

Can you please advise how to check power at the fuse location?
If the fuse location was not getting power, wouldn't the fuse tap also not get power?
Meaning, tail lights slot has 2 fuses now -> 15A fuse that is for the tail lights circuit and the other fuse is the add a fuse which is 10A and powers the map lights.

The map lights work, but the everything else on the tail light circuit is not working. So I'm confused.

So the fuse can be checked across the legs. Take it out and verify you are getting current. If the meter shows OL, then physically shine a light on the fuse and verify the link is not broken.

To verify the fuse slot is getting power, positive probe into one side and negative probe to chassis ground. Your looking for the hot side. Both might be getting power. If you see voltage, it's working.

Then, go back to the trunk area and check one connector to verify its getting power with switch activated.

Done! @75aces was right - the fuse looked ok and what threw me off was the spare fuse that came with car was also marginal.
I switched it to a new fuse and problem solved!

Just one more question - can someone verify that they have a 15A fuse in the "INV" slot? My car didn't have a fuse in there and the panel cover says 15A - so I put a new one in there. Can I leave it or should I remove it?
Also, what is the "INV" circuit for? Web search show its for the inverter circuit - which we don't have on our Gen9 Corollas - correct?
