Just curious what windows stickers you have on your drivers door? When I was buying my wife's 2014 hybrid last weekend the finance manager tried to sneak in an extra $299 'theft deterrent package'. I told her I didn't want it and I wouldn't pay it. She said it was unwaivable, that they install it on all their cars. After having her tell me six times that she couldn't remove it and after me telling her five times that I wouldn't pay it, I stood up, asked for the title for my trade, ready to walk out, suddenly she was able to remove the charge.

The sales guy pleaded dumb and asked me not to hold it against him. When I pushed to find out what it was he said he thought it was VIN etched in all the glass. I thought that was standard on all new vehicles. I figure it was just another dealer profit ripoff.

Here is my drivers window stickers...

Hmmm guess I don't have permission to post a photo ..

Mine has three stickers... the front most is white and orange, and says 'Anti-Theft System WARNING Vehicle is engraved with traceable identification codes'
The middle one is see-thru and shows a wifi-like signal with 'Toyota Auto Alarm' under it.
The aft most is really the 'Toyota Guardian' glass painted on the window, I believe.

That IS most interesting. It really makes you wonder just how stupid the Dealers think the buying public is. That, just because the item is "listed" on the invoice you, the buyer, must accept it and pay for it.

Your perseveance payed off. I just bought a 2013 Avalon Hybrid last week that had been traded back to the same dealer for a 2014. This car had gone "thru the dealership" twice...but no add ons. I'm lucky I guess.
