Thank god it wasn't the X!

You know I've never hit a dear with my own car. I've gotten pretty damn close though. I had a rent-a-car one week and was beating the hell out of it. The last night I had it I was taking it easy, and boom, not one, but TWO deer ran out of nowhere into the driver side. I literally watched one of them hit my window face first.

Deer suck...PERIOD!

 

Don't wash the blood off till your insurance co. sees it. They wouldn't pay one of my buddie's claim b/c they could find no proof a deer was in fact involved. On the third trip to look at the vehicle, the adjusted pulled out a clod of mud that was stuck in the headlight housing, and some deer hair fell out.

 

yea the damage is no big deal..grill can be fixed with gorilla glue..bumper and be whacked back with a mallet and the bar can pull out no biggie...plus those fog lights where old and where rusting inside and wanted to replace em.

when i hit the damn thing i was like WTF where did it go..I barely felt any impact and then i see it rolling out from under me in my rear view.

I am not reporting this...I can careless its like 50buxks in damage..i can fix the rest. not paying a huge deductable to fix something minor

 

I hear you on the deer. Not the smartest creatures. My commute has little traffic, so no soccer moms on cell phones wandering in traffic, but deer are about as unpredicatable. Least you weren't on the interstate.

As others have said better the old truck than the XR.

 

i hit one with my 95 Tacoma. I hit him going about 35 and all it did was bust the turn signal which was located in the bumber. i'm willing to bet if i were to hit one with the 05 Tacoma my results would not be as good:sosad:

sure glad my truck is higher and that safari bar really saved alot from alot more damage happening. i dont think worry about the X much....It never goes anywhere. Hasnt left the garage since sunday...lol

 

Deers are the most stupid animals around here in Virginia. I always have to be on alert while driving home from work at nite. Sometimes I wish I had a machine gun mounted on the top so I could shoot them down as I pass by while they are on the side of the road.

lol your wrong i hit one last week and it got pushed undermy truck sounded like a pinball machine bouncin around under my truck, i pulled over and thank god, not even a scratch,im so damn lucky i thought id see al kinds of damage.

It would have destroyed the plasticky front end of our Tacomas.

I dont think anything can ever happen to the X unless my garage catches fire. cause well it never goes out of it..LOL

If impact with a deer is unavoidable, I am not sure if my reaction would be hitting the gas or the brake.

 

I prefer shooting and eating the deer....they do less damage that way!! ;-)

its funny cause its a STUPID deer...they always get hit and tons running around. The funny part was watching it roll out from under me. Plus its a deer not a dog or child...naa wouldnt really care if I hit a cat
Do you feel bad for all the reacoons dead on the road as well.
