Has anyone installed a throttle lag eliminator to remove the lag on the electronic gas pedal.
It's a pain in the butt when your trying to pass or merge towing.

Yes. Initially, I tried the Pedle Commander. Big mistake. It failed in under 200 miles of use. When I tried to get my money back due to it failing, the vendor balked. After a few emails and phone calls, they relinquished and I was refunded 878% of the purchase price.

The pedal commander has been throwing up check engine lights for people using it!

The one I had didn't throw a code but it did reset itself and then would not allow me to set it to the driving modes I had set initially.

I bought and installed the Banks Pedal Monster for about $25 more than the original cost of the failed Pedal Commander.

Take a look at the Banks Pedal Monster You Tube Video. It will tell the story much better than I can.

My Pedal Monster has performed flawlessly since November of last year.

Surprised about this throttle lag. My 2019 sr5 v6 doesn't have the slightest bit. If the op's truck is still in warranty, it needs to go back to the dealer.
Btw, Idk what the op is towing, but it sounds more like a transmission issue when trying to merge, or pass. These 3.5 engines need to downshift precisely at the right time to maintain the proper amount of torque needed in those situations.

I can't understand why the need for an aftermarket tune when these later 3rd gen's perform fine to begin with, plus some of those aftermarket tunes have failed emission testing here. If the op is experiencing some sort of issue, it needs to go back for service. My 2019 v6 automatic performs as sharp as any car, or truck with an automatic I've driven, and smoother than many. I gotta wonder if the op's truck doesn't have the latest tsb that corrects all that transmission hunting, and wimpy low end. After the dealer performed that tsb on my 2019 sr5 v6, its been a different truck ever since.

Tacogerry The lag has nothing to do with the transmission, it's built into the drive by wire system to give the truck better gas mileage as per the government requirements, the lag is the same towing or just city driving. You push on the pedal and there is a lag before the truck takes off. 2017 TRD offroad V6

Obviously there's some connection that tsb has with the lag. After it was done on my truck, it was way more responsive to any pedal input. I just put the slightest pressure on my trucks gas pedal, and your off to the races like any other vehicle. If the op has some sort of lag, it needs finding out why. Imo, those tunes are a band aid to mask whatever the real issue is.

I think toyota may had different tsb's for that beginning on earlier gen3 v6 autos, then another tsb that affected trucks up to 2021. I believe later gen3's were suppose to already have that tsb in their new trucks, at least owners I've run into here say their tacoma's run fine, no complaints. I can tell you, I've got zero complaints with my 2019 sr5.

I guess there's others besides OTT if you have one of those poor running trucks looking to improve drivability , or just looking for a performance upgrade. Still, imo you need to find a knowledgeable toyota dealer that doesn't give you lip service. There has to be a reason why most tacoma 3rd gens run fine not needing an aftermarket tune. Usually aftermarket tunes are for owners looking for more.
