Tire Pressure Re-Set Switch ' Missing ' ?

Interesting.

One of my flock- at least temporarily - an '07 Camry LE 4 cyl displayed the low air pressure symbol on the dash a few weeks ago. I aired up the tires - started the engine and about 10-15 secs later the light went out. I didn't have to locate and depress a button.

My wife's 2010 RAV4 does not have a reset button. When the tire is aired up, the light goes out without even moving the vehicle.

' Missing ' switch found. Funny how it was just where they said........and how it's barely visible from the seat.
I did see a note somewhere to also check and correct the spare setting so I did that too.
I did the reset w/ the car not running and the light /symbol blinked then went off.

Will I know for sure the next time I drive it ?

Anyway, thanks.

It is hard to find the switch when sitting in the driver's seat. I have to get out and look up at the bottom of the dash to see it. If the light blinked and went out, then it was reset.

I check the air in my spare every other oil change. Having a flat tire, then finding out the spare is flat too changes the situation from bad to worse.

I keep about 35psi in the spare and 32 on the rest. It gives a bit of a harder ride, but the tire lasts longer.

Tires lose air faster in cold weather. A lot of people think that "damn tire light" is what is causing the tire to lose air, when in fact if they did not have TPMS, they would be driving on a low tire.

Most tire leaks are caused by corrosion forming between the tire bead and the alloy wheel. Nitrogen was supposed to cure this, removing the oxygen which causes the corrosion. If you had nitrogen in your tires, and needed air, where would you go to get nitrogen? Just a puff of regular compressed air is enough to contaminate the nitrogen air in the tire. GM agrees, and has a service bulletin about nitrogen,
