I put Vredesteins on my 2017 86 and I love them. Very grippy and forgiving. Reasonably priced and good quality (I have them on my 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider - equally happy!!)

 

The top 3 picks I've seen based on Tire Rack currently are Michelin Defender 2, Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3, and Continental CrossContact LX25s.

 

The 86 ain’t no SUV which 2 of the 3 listed are SUV tires. And tirerack doesn’t really like the Defender 2 wet handling
