Tires

While in for 30,000 mile service on my 2018 XLE, the dealer is saying I need new tires.

Apparently, the OEM Hancooks are only good for 30,000 miles when driven at the speed limit simply commuting to and from work. #sad

I have the Hankook's as well at 21,xxx miles and still at about 6.5/32nds, should be able to get at least 50K miles. Could be your roads that cause the rapid wear?

You have to think about where you live. How are the climates, does it rain, snow, where you live? Personally for me I'd steer clear of those yokohamas and BF goodrich since the UTQG rating is quite low which means you'll chew through those in no time, low tread life. The Yokos won't have that great a wet traction as it's designed for summer/dry temperatures. Unless you like forking over $700-800 for new tires every year and money is no object.

The reason I suggested the Continentals as they are a good balance of wear and grip in the wet and dry plus they'll last much longer than the yoko/BF goodrich. Do more research on tirerack and make sure you get a tire that fits your local climate is probably your best best. Any good all season tire should do fine.

I've had zero issue with the Hankooks that came on the car, much quieter than the Kumho Ecsta LX Platinums I had on my previous car.

I had a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS on another car that had a real good ride with great grip in the dry and wet.
