i have a 2020 LE. You will want to tow in normal. Or for tighter suspension and steering choose sport. Turn off all the radar for the cruise control and lane support. It won’t help.

 

Definitely Eco mode off on any vehicle... usually Eco mode dulls your acceleration, you'd be forcing that motor a bit depending on the weight you're towing.

 

We tow a 4000 lb lightly loaded travel trailer with our 21 AWD XLE.
Across the US. I leave ECO on, it turns itself off. I use cruise control, the engine downshifts up hill(even the 6 degree grades), I lower the speed setting if its struggling Up hill. I let the engine brake downhill. No problem.

 

It's just a 6x12 1500lb trailer. I'll be towing probably another 1000 pounds of lumber

 

When I tow that with the 2020 Hydbrid, normally I don't even bother to go from eco to normal mode. But when I get on vacation in mountain region, I switch to normal. If you need to pass a slow large truck uphill while towing, switch to sport mode for that passing period.

The manual specified trailer brakes for trailers over 1000 lb. Native harness in HL is only 4 wire. An aftermarket 7 pin harness is needed for electric trailer brakes.
